BARBARA SMITH IS THE "LAW" OF SMITH LAW- TOM SMITH IS THE "REHABILITATION" OF SMITH REHABILITATION CONSULTANTS

Barbara is a litigator, admitted to the Bar in the State of Indiana. She has her J.D.,  B.G.S., and an A.S.  The owner of Smith Law, she currently works as a co-presenter of these Continuing Education seminars, as well as serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, of Counsel, and HIPAA Compliance Officer for Smith Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc.

Previously, she was the attorney for the Morgan County, Indiana Child Protection Services Division of the State of Indiana Family and Social Services where she provided legal services to the State in cases of child protection and adoption. Prior to her appointment as the "Child Protection Attorney" Barbara successfully ran the CASA/GAL (Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem) program. In these positions, a significant part of her job was to prepare mental health professionals, case managers, CASA volunteers, juvenile probation officers, and other health professionals TO TESTIFY IN COURT.

Tom is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana, as well as being a pharmacist. The owner and CEO of Smith Rehabilitation Consultants, Inc., he is nationally published on the Americans with Disabilities Act and, with Barbara, has been delivering over 400 seminars over 40 years.

The letters after his name? B.Pharm, P.D., FASCP, M.S., LMHC, NCP, FAPA, BCC, DAPA...he states that these initials just get him jobs! Still licensed to practice independently as a mental health counselor AND as a pharmacist, Tom's mental health background includes Crisis Work, Substance Abuse Counseling, Couples Counseling, Disability Counseling, Mood Disorders, Trauma (all types), Juvenile and Adult Justice, and others. He specializes in treating patients with the Dissociative Disorders. He also just completed 12 years as a member of the Indiana Family and Socials Services Administration Drug Utilization Review Board.

Tom is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Saint Louis University School of Nursing, teaching psychopharmacology to graduate nurse practitioner students; he joined the Faculty at the University of Phoenix in January of 2012 teaching Introduction to Psychology Courses to Baccalaureate students; and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
